When Stories Become Seeds of Faith

“Is God even real? If He is, what kind of God is He? And how does that impact my life today?” With the completion of its 100th episode in Season 5 this past May, these are the big questions that Hope@Night continues to explore.

Designed with a relaxed, late-night format, Hope@Night targets the very people Hope Channel exists to reach: non-Christians, non-Adventists, and spiritual seekers. Each episode is filmed before a live audience from a variety of backgrounds—religious and non-religious alike.

Interview guests include a man who appeared on America’s Most Wanted, a girl born without arms or legs, a former pornography filmmaker, parents whose daughter was murdered, and a former Satan worshipper, as well as top theologians, scientists, mathematicians and archaeologists. Their powerful stories point to deep biblical truths made real through experience.

In one recent week of taping, out of 31 audience members:

·       4 requested Bible studies

·       2 asked to visit a local Adventist church

·       4 wanted to recommit their lives to God

·       14 said they “fell more in love with God”

Season after season, the pattern has held, with audience members confessing deep personal shifts in their view of God, Scripture, and even church. Their reactions speak volumes:

Khawaja (returning guest): “The show always makes me realize God exists.”

Haritha: “I grew up Hindu... I [believed] that... Christians are very sexist, homophobic, etc. But Hope at Night clarified that... Christianity as a religion is about love.”

Austin: “I [am] agnostic... but there’s a certain strength I see in religious people. Some of the guests had gone through tragedies that I think would be nearly impossible to survive without faith.”

Dulce: “I’m a Christian, but I had questions and confusion. Hearing these stories reminded me that with God by your side, you’ll never be alone.”

Janae (former Adventist): “This show brought me back to God.”

Shawntia: “I want to incorporate the Sabbath now that I understand it better. I would love to read the entire Bible.”

Clips have gone viral, shared by non-Adventists influencers with millions of followers.
