Celebration of Hope Returns with a Weekend of Reassurance
Oct 26, 2022, 10:13 PM
Silver Spring, Maryland (October 26, 2022) – The Hope Channel International, Inc. (HCI) annual Celebration of Hope was held in Orlando, Florida last weekend under the theme “Reassurance”.
The three-day-long event was an uplifting one for Hope Channel supporters and viewers who enjoyed inspiring messages and received updates from HCI leaders and program hosts, including President Derek Morris. Stirring musical performances were given by Michael Andrews, Zina Johnson, Jeremy Morada, and Neville Peter.
This year, on Friday evening, more than 80 attendees experienced firsthand a musical Sabbath vespers program followed by a live study with the Hope Sabbath School panel. On Sabbath morning, attendees were blessed with a powerful service of prayer, music, presentations, and seminars led by Hope Channel directors and leaders.
Also, on Sabbath evening, Ambassador of Hope awards were presented to two families – Weedman and Lillian Barnett of Meridianville, Alabama, and Robert and Anne Murphy of Apopka, Florida – for their outstanding commitment and support to the media ministry of HCI.
According to Mr. Barnett, who has also embraced the ministry of music along with his evangelistic efforts on behalf of HCI, “Hope Channel has been doing outstanding work to spread the Gospel Commission. I am blessed to be a part of its ministry and, as a first-time attendee at Celebration of Hope, I am even more grateful to receive this honor as a worker in the Lord’s vineyard.” He added that he would recommend that other HCI supporters, viewers, and well-wishers attend the next event.
Another HCI supporter, Ms. Judith Hawkins of Tallahassee, Florida, said the messages that she received over the weekend affirmed that Hope Channel was aptly called. “The presentations reminded me that Jesus Christ is transforming lives; it's a transforming hope until life eternal,” she stated. “I'm excited to be a partner with Hope Channel International and I encourage those who watch Hope Channel to not only be a partner but to share this ministry and its meaningful programs with others.”
In his delivery of the closing sermon, President Derek Morris used Matthew 6:19-21 to encourage those present to lay up for themselves treasure in heaven. He emphasized that “When you make an investment in the Lord’s harvest work, it will yield a wonderful return.”
The next Celebration of Hope is scheduled to take place in Orlando in October 2023.
