Daniel Versus Everyone Series Brings Biblical Prophecy Into Debate

Daniel Versus Everyone was created in partnership with the producers of Daniel and the Fiery Furnace, a feature film opening in North American theaters on Friday, September 18. Hosted by Pastor Ivor Myers, the series is designed to build interest in the book of Daniel leading up to the film’s release and sustain it afterward.

The series invites participants to discuss their convictions before the host draws on Scripture and history to address the questions raised.

Daniel and the Fiery Furnace follows Daniel in Babylonian captivity and the ordeal of Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego in the fiery furnace. Written and directed by brothers Daniel and Matthew Kooman, it stars Mena Massoud (Aladdin) as Daniel, and Elijah Alexander (The Chosen) as King Nebuchadnezzar. Kevin Christenson, head of Hope Studios and senior director of global distribution for Hope Channel International, has described productions such as Daniel as “proving that large-scale excellence is achievable with values and quality.”

In the episode titled “Fireproof,” twelve participants debate whether compromise can be justified when a life is at stake. The discussion considers the convictions of the three men facing the furnace. Myers lets the argument develop before presenting his biblical explanation and closing with a 60-second summary.

“For me, watching the guests’ faces light up as they gained greater understanding was a beautiful experience,” Myers said.

The episode also includes street interviews filmed in Washington, D.C., where Atonte Myers served as the reporter. Those candid conversations bring questions about the Bible and Daniel into the program alongside the studio discussion.

Rico Hill, senior producer and head of development at Hope Studios, said he and two colleagues approached the film’s producers with a proposal for a show that could drive online engagement. With him were Christenson and Robbie Berghan, Hope Channel International’s vice president for global media and engagement. Hill then developed the concept, presented it to the filmmakers, and produced the series, which also includes clips for social media.

“Hope Studios exists to extend Hope Channel International’s reach into spaces beyond our traditional platforms, including cinemas and global streaming services,” Hill said. “Partnering with the filmmakers behind Daniel and the Fiery Furnace was a natural fit.”

The series forms around OneVoice27, a global initiative to share the gospel of Jesus through media and local outreach, culminating in September 2027. The series’ campaign plan calls for continued engagement with the book of Daniel beyond the film’s theatrical release.

Puia Fanai, manager of digital evangelism and engagement for Hope Channel International, is writing the companion resources, including a ten-day devotional on the book of Daniel.

“Through this series, my hope is to inspire viewers to fall in love with Jesus and the book of Daniel,” Atonte Myers said.
