Hope Channel International’s vice president for finance, Gideon Mutero, has been elected associate treasurer of the General Conference of Seventh-day Adventists.

As Gideon follows God’s call to this new role, we celebrate with him, even as we prepare to say goodbye to a deeply valued leader. Over 14 years at Hope Channel International, he has served with Godly character and a deep commitment to the church. He valued the faithful stewardship of God’s resources and played a key role in strategic planning and driving training experiences that strengthened the entire Hope Channel Network. His leadership helped position the global network to move boldly toward its vision of reaching 1 billion people with the message of eternal hope.

“Gideon is a leader marked by integrity, strategic vision, and a deep passion for mission,” said Vyacheslav Demyan, president of Hope Channel International. “He has made significant contributions to establishing high organizational standards at Hope Channel International and has played a key role in the strategic development of the Hope Channel Network, with a strong emphasis on cultivating a learning organization. He has also been instrumental in the growth of the Hope Channel Network. Many new media entities exist today because of his unwavering commitment to mission and strong leadership.”

We are confident that Gideon will be a blessing to the world church, just as he has been to Hope Channel International. We are also grateful for the support of his wife, Sophia, and their daughters, Rachel and Peris, throughout his time with us, and we will continue to pray for God’s leading of their family.

“It has been a tremendous privilege to serve at Hope Channel International,” Gideon said following his election. “I have witnessed the growth and transformation of Hope Channel into a truly global evangelistic media ministry. I will endeavor to make this transition as seamless as possible to ensure that the work of Hope Channel International continues without much disruption. I am grateful for the support of Vyacheslav Demyan and his visionary leadership. I pray that God will use him mightily as he leads the Hope Channel Network to reach 1 billion people by 2030.”

We now enter a season of transition and prayer as we seek God’s guidance in identifying our next vice president. Our mission remains strong, and we move ahead with confidence, knowing the same God who has led us this far will continue to lead us into the future.
