Hope Channel Inter-America has ended satellite transmission and is now fully digital, a step that reflects where the wider Hope Channel Network is heading. On July 16, 2026, after a decade of satellite broadcasting, the regional network shifted all programming to streaming platforms, mobile applications, and internet-based services, as reported by Inter-American Division News.
For Hope Channel International, the coordinating entity of the global network, the change reflects a shared direction across the network. Each field is finding ways to meet audiences on the platforms they already use, at whatever scale it can manage. Hope Channel Inter-America connects 21 media centers across the Inter-American Division and now offers 98 original programs, part of a library it has expanded since 2022.
The move prioritizes the people on the other side of the screen who have shifted toward on-demand viewing, watching on their own schedule and on devices they carry. Digital distribution meets them there. The network, which launched on September 15, 2016, with three around-the-clock channels in English, Spanish, and French, can now reach viewers at a lower cost and with more room to grow.
“Today, distribution technology has evolved. Internet-based platforms provide greater flexibility and scalability, integrate with digital applications and services, and do so at a significantly lower cost,” said Abel Márquez, executive director of Hope Channel Inter-America.
“Hope Channel Inter-America is no longer functioning simply as a television channel,” Márquez added. “We are becoming a stronger digital media network.”
"Technology changes, and we keep adapting and using it to advance the gospel. Inter-America has done an excellent job speeding up and reaching more people with these new tools, so much so that people's questions are being answered much faster. That's why, even though it's challenging, we believe we'll reach 1 billion people by 2030, and to the ends of the Earth," said Sam Neves, vice president for advancement, communication, and marketing at Hope Channel International.
Channels across the network differ in size, staff, and resources, and each carries the same calling in its own setting. As Hope Channel International works toward its goal of reaching one billion people by 2030, Inter-America’s move is one more sign of a global family meeting people where they are and carrying the gospel of Jesus to the ends of the Earth (Acts 1:8).
