Hope Channel International and GC Treasury Collaborate on Mission Trip and Evangelistic Series in the U.S. Virgin Islands

Silver Spring, Maryland (February 26, 2024) – Hope Channel International (HCI) is excited to announce its partnership with the General Conference (GC) Treasury for the upcoming "I Will Go Be His Hands" mission trip. This event is set to take place on the island of St. Croix in the U.S. Virgin Islands from April 10-17, 2024.

HCI and GC Treasury are joining forces to support the Seventh-day Adventist community in St. Croix, significantly impacted by Hurricanes Irma and Maria. The mission involves rehabilitating the local center of influence, which serves as a vital hub for youth activities and community engagement. The facility, left in ruins by the natural disasters, includes outdoor areas for basketball, volleyball, and tennis. Restoration efforts will focus on revitalizing these spaces, fostering a nurturing environment for the youth and the community.

In addition to the rehabilitation project, evangelistic meetings will occur at four sites from March 30-April 13 under the theme "Impact 24 - Your Journey to Joy." The evangelistic series will offer spiritual nourishment through the words of dynamic, accomplished young pastors. In addition, a Loma Linda Health medical team of more than 20 medical professionals will provide a health fair for the community April 10-17.

“Evangelism is for everyone,” said Pastor Paul H. Douglas, General Conference treasurer, who is leading his team to be involved in mission on the frontline. 

“This partnership with HCI and others will allow us to develop a blueprint and demonstrate the benefits of an integrated approach to evangelism by involving every level of our church organization, church institutions, and church members as we together make an impact for Christ on the island of St. Croix,” said Douglas.
