Silver Spring, Maryland (November 22, 2023) Hope Channel International (HCI) sponsored a media evangelistic event, “Almost Home,” that was broadcast from Port Harcourt, Nigeria, and led to the baptism of over 8,000 precious souls.

HCI worked in collaboration with the West-Central Africa Division and Eastern Nigeria Union Conference to organize this NET event from October 20 to November 3, 2023. The production equipment that HCI provided for the evangelistic event will continue to be used for Hope Channel work in Eastern Nigeria.

The series was distributed through thousands of downlink centers throughout the West-Central Africa Division, making use of multiple media platforms such as satellite, the Hope Channel app, web streaming, YouTube, and social media.

“HCI is grateful for the impact of the evangelistic series in Nigeria,” said Gideon Mutero, HCI vice president for finance. “We exist to utilize media as a tool for evangelism to reach as many people as possible with the good news.”

In addition to music and presentations on health and family life, HCI Senior Evangelist Pastor Christopher Holland preached powerful messages of hope under the theme, “Proclaiming Hope to a Broken World.”

“It has been amazing to see how people have come forward to make decisions night after night, to see the impact that it is making on people’s lives, and to see lives truly transformed,” Holland said.

President of the West-Central Africa Division Robert Osei-Bonsu, expressed his gratitude toward HCI. “We praise God for the ministry of Hope Channel in the Adventist Church and in our division. The impact of the campaign is immense. It has not only revived the faith of God’s people, but has also drawn many souls into the Kingdom of God,” he said.

Praise the Lord for the messages of hope that were shared across the West-Central Africa Division and the thousands of lives transformed as a result.

This evangelistic series is the second of two sponsored by Hope Channel International this year. The first, “Hope for Africa,” during which Pastor Mark Finley presented the powerful Word of God in Nairobi, Kenya, witnessed the extraordinary baptism of almost 200,000 souls.

“The ‘Almost Home’ evangelistic series in Nigeria is a remarkable demonstration of God’s power that is revealed when we are united and committed to evangelism,” said Vyacheslav Demyan, president of HCI. “This is not just an evangelistic series; it’s a pivotal step in our journey toward achieving Hope Channel’s bold goal for 2030 to reach one billion individuals worldwide with the message of eternal hope.”

“Together, in prayer and dedication, let us unite our efforts to witness the unfolding of even greater miracles in the years to come,” Demyan added.
