Reflections on 2021

Dec 2021

Derek Morris | President Hope Channel International Inc.Silver Spring, MD

In many ways, 2021 was the worst of years. Still recovering from the incessant waves of a global health pandemic, 2021 was a year filled with challenges, losses, and heartache. Many of us lost loved ones and friends. Others lost jobs. Some of us lost the vitality we once took for granted.

And yet 2021 was also the best of years for the global evangelistic media ministry of Hope Channel. With an ever-expanding network of 69 channels, broadcasting in more than 80 languages, we saw more viewers requesting Bible studies than ever before at http://hope.study.

In mid-November, impact partners gathered for our only live Celebration of Hope event of the year in Orlando, Florida. www.hopetv.org/celebrationofhope Attendees heard thrilling stories of lives transformed through the ministry of Hope Channel, and listened to inspiring music. One of our impact partners anonymously gave a fundraising challenge: all donations will be matched up to $250,000. By the end of the weekend, we had received gifts and pledges of $263,066, making our grand total for the Celebration of Hope fundraising event $503, 066. Gifts are continuing to arrive at our Silver Spring, MD, headquarters and through online donations at www.hopetv.org/donate. Donors are being led by the Holy Spirit to be part of this great miracle of God!

One of our most exciting initiatives in 2021 is the 3AM: Morning Is Coming proclamation project. Young people are proclaiming the Three Angels’ Messages around the world. We have reached our goal for 2021 of 3AM broadcasts in 30 languages, with the goal of 3AM broadcasts in 70 languages by 2025. We plan to take the best young adult presenters from around the world and train a powerful team of young evangelists in collaboration with Mark Finley and the Living Hope School of Evangelism. The prophecy of Jesus is being fulfilled: “This Gospel of the kingdom will be preached as a witness to all nations, and then the end will come!” Matthew 24:14

We are looking forward to what God will do in 2022 and we thank you for your generous support and prayers.
